Kani Tamil 2024, a Tamil computing conference by the Government of Tamil Nadu
இன்று மாண்புமிகு தமிழக முதல்வர் அவர்கள் அறிவித்துள்ள பன்னாட்டுக் கணித்தமிழ் மாநாட்டு, கணித்தமிழ்24 (www.kanitamil.in) ஆலோசனைக் குழுவில் நானும் இருப்பது மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கிறது. இருபத்தைந்து ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் சென்னையில் தமிழ் இணையம்99 மாநாடு நடந்த போது, இந்தத் துறையின் முன்னோடிகள் பலரை அருகிலிருந்து ஓர் இளைஞனாகப் பார்த்து, கற்கும் பேறுப் பெற்றேன். பத்தாண்டுகள் கழித்து கலைஞரால் நடத்தப்பட்ட கோவை செம்மொழித் தமிழ் மாநாட்டுடன் நடந்த தமிழ் இணைய 2010 மாநாட்டின் போது, உத்தமத்தின் தலைவராக இருந்து, பேராசிரியர் திரு மு.ஆனந்தக் கிருஷ்ணன் அவர்களின் வழிகாட்டுதலில் நடத்தும் வாய்ப்பைப் பெற்றேன்.

TiE Global Summit 2023, Singapore
As one of the largest entrepreneurship gatherings globally, the TiE Global Summit unites from across the world, leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers. This year’s event happened over the last three days in the city-state of Singapore. TGS 2023 was held in partnership with the Singapore Fintech Festival, which showcased cutting-edge financial & technical solutions and the evolving regulatory landscape.

Zoho Larynx celebrated 200 unbroken weeks!
I was invited to deliver a guest lecture on “The skills needed for the 21st century” at Zoho’s campus in Chennai near Guduvanchery last Friday (23rd June 2023). The audience, over hundred people, was a mix of Zoho employees from various departments, both young and experienced. The event was organized by Zoho Larynx, an internal toastmaster inspired speaker forum that has been running for over 4 years. I was impressed by the fact that a company with over 10,000 employees across the globe cares to encourage speaking skills of their team members irrespective of their job roles.

Role of technology in open knowledge, Wikiconference India 2023
Happy to have participated in a panel discussion at Wikipedia WikiConference 2023 that is happening in Hyderabad. I met a lot of interesting and energetic volunteers and community members. I spoke about enterprises and open sources, community contribution in Indic languages, the need for open source to evolve in the time of LLM and AI, creating awareness with the CIO, and CEO communities on what it takes to contribute to open source, the maturity of #indic language computing, need to do fast releases in opensource projects, train community contributors in skills beyond coding and more.

45th Chennai Book Fair 2022
Every year for the last 45 years, Chennai city has hosted a mega book fair with nearly a thousand bookstalls selling all kind of books in Tamil and English.
